Simon worked on three projects for our school, ranging from promotional videos to a walkthrough of the site. His professionalism was evident at every stage and we are tremendously pleased with the results, all of which reflect the ethos of the school.

Simon is a pleasure to work with. Despite the challenges of working remotely, Simon used the footage we provided to create a series of engaging and inspiring videos which have been very well received.
We are a digital advertising agency that needed some video adverts filmed and edited for 3 of our clients. Simon was highly professional, his attention to detail was undeniable and the turn around time for the end products was fantastic. Our clients were extremely happy with the filming day and the final videos. We would highly recommend Simon for anyone who is looking for a professional videographer and editor! We will definitely be using his services again.

Working with Simon was an absolute dream. He had researched our Charity and the sector we work in and made the entire process easy and straightforward. His ideas were innovative and captured the essence of who we are.
He made everyone feel comfortable during filming, both staff and service users, and treat everyone with such dignity and respect.
Throughout the entire process he kept us informed and involved and was more than happy to make any adjustments, big or small. The work he created was beautiful and we couldn’t be happier with the finished results.
We would recommend Simon and York Filming and Editing to anyone who wants a highly professional job doing with a personal touch.

Simon has been an absolute joy to work with. He has listened carefully to our requests and been so helpful during the editing process. He’s been great at communicating and has always been quick to respond to any enquiries. He’s great behind the camera too! We are thrilled with the outcomes videos he’s made for The Conservation Volunteers and we look forward to working with him again in the future.
Ralph Walker, The Conservation Volunteers
The video Simon created for our website far exceeded my expectations. We wanted to show the many places people can volunteer with us, and the very many ways in which they can help, and Simon helped us to tell these stories in a really compelling way. Whilst the film was great for the website Simon recognised early on that we’d also need bite-sized film for use on our various social media platforms. He shot extra footage to use alongside edited bits of the main film to create a number of really great, shorter pieces targeting specific locations and /or activity. They’ve looked terrific on our Facebook page and we’ve used them to support recruitment events from which we’ve had a number of enquiries. Simon was a pleasure to work with. He’s extremely professional, gets the best out of the people he wants to feature in the films and easily spots a great image. He captured the fun at the heart of what our volunteers are doing. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Simon again.
Lynn Thompson, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust

I have worked with Simon to develop a film with disabled children and young people about their experiences of the short break support they receive. Simon used creative methods to ensure we captured and filmed the views and experiences of disabled children and young people. The footage was developed into a number of different films and edits for different audiences. The films made a real difference in our overall project to develop a build a Centre of Excellence for Disabled Children and their families. They enabled the voice and experience of children and young people shape and influence a significant project. This was achieved through Simon’s skilled, flexible, creative and considered approach to working with and filming disabled children and young people. I would thoroughly recommend Simon for creative projects with disabled children and young people. In my experience he achieves and exceeds the brief that he is given.

We asked you for a series of patient videos for our Facebook and website pages. The videos have had a huge impact on our business – we put them on Facebook and we put them on Youtube and we had so many hits on them, Facebook especially. I couldn’t believe how quick it happened, it was instant – as soon as we put them up, people were looking at them.
Lucie Hunter, York orthodontics
The videos you put together have worked really really nicely, we notice an immediate uplift to the number of patients that were coming forwards for our particular line of work. So the films were having a very direct impact on our referral base.
The whole process has been very painless and a very positive experience. I’d highly recommend your services to anyone. The disruption factor is absolutely minimal, you’re extremely supportive; I hate being in front of camera and you’re very encouraging and that has made such a big difference. I’d highly recommend your services
Jonathan Hunter, York orthodontics
On our social media channels, the video has reached over 25,000 people, we have 1500 views on Youtube, and in our e-newsletter it has been clicked over 1200 times! These are great figures so I’m very pleased.
Katy Duddell, National Railway Museum
We’ve been delighted with the service provided, the videos have been absolutely brilliant, the editing superb. The turnaround time was really quick so we were really pleased about that. You were really professional, arriving really early to set up to make sure you weren’t in the way when people came in. We were really concerned about the effect it would have on the people in the room, that they’d feel put off by the cameras being there, but actually you worked really hard to make sure you were out of the way and people felt at ease. I would absolutely recommend you and will look to use you again in the future.

Simon has worked on a number of projects for Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT) over the years. The work that Simon produces is to a very high standard and he is able to connect and communicate with a number of people to get the best footage. Thank you for working with us in partnership to produce two inspirational films which so effectively communicate our central message about the impact of loss of friendship for disabled children and young people. I think one of the reasons why the films work so well is because you as a filmmaker, demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the issues we want to address. You have the skills to prioritise the essence of the message in a seamless flow. We also appreciate that you take time to work with disabled young people respectfully and effectively, and for always producing our films within budget and on time!
Lynda Corker, Senior Project Worker, York Project, The Children’s Society
Simon has been involved in a number of projects for LAKE and I have no hesitation in recommending him. He is particularly good at putting people at ease – important where it is someone’s first time on camera. He also delivers great results on time and to budget.
Paul Barns, LAKE Financial Systems
Simon is a pleasure to work with. I contracted Simon to help produce All About Burley, a community heritage project which entailed working with dozens of primary school children in a very multi-cultural inner city school in Leeds to explore their local area. Simon has a great way of working with people and built a very strong rapport with the children, training them to video oral history interviews with local residents of all ages. He was extremely professional, meeting every deadline and really went the extra mile to create a fabulous film which the whole school could be proud of. I can whole heartedly recommend him!
Yvonne Deane, Director at Deane Associates
Simon put his heart and soul into what was a very challenging brief, and remained focused, enthusiastic, and professional at all times. His enthusiasm to research and ability grasp an understanding of deafness excelled our expectations.
He brought out the best in everyone involved and inspired the young people (who might normally have a tendency of shyness) to express themselves and realise their potential and be heard.
The high standard of the finishing touches are evidence of Simon’s attention to detail and proof of his lasting enthusiasm. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with such a talented and genuine filmmaker.

I have worked with Simon Collins on several occasions, using his skills as a cameraman and editor. He has always been thorough, reliable and good humoured. The films were used to promote my own writing, and to publicise an Arts Festival. I’m delighted with the final results, which were extremely professional and well presented. Simon’s work is always of a very high standard and I would recommend him to anybody.
